The deadline approaching
Persons subject to the UAE Electronic Invoicing System with revenue of at least AED 50 million must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026. Mandatory implementation for that cohort remains 1 January 2027, under Ministerial Decision No. 66 of 2026.
This is a reminder of the existing amended timetable. It is not a newly announced October extension, and the revenue threshold alone should not be used without checking whether the person and transactions fall within the system's scope.
Appointment and implementation are separate
T&M analysis: signing a provider contract is one deliverable; delivering a functioning invoicing process is another. Finance teams should ask for evidence of provider accreditation, a written implementation plan and named owners for data, interfaces and exceptions.
A provider selection that leaves invoice mapping or integration testing until year-end creates execution risk even if the appointment is made on time. Procurement, tax and technology teams should use the same scope definition rather than maintain separate lists of entities and invoice flows.
What to do before 30 October
Confirm the legal person, relevant revenue calculation and applicability of the first wave. Retain the appointment evidence and reconcile the selected provider's accreditation status with the current Ministry framework.
Use the remaining implementation period to test credit notes, rejected documents, missing identifiers and reconciliation back to the accounting ledger. These are T&M readiness recommendations, rather than additional statutory deadlines.
