Trading has opened
The UAE Ministry of Finance announced the listing and start of secondary trading of its second sovereign retail T-Sukuk on Nasdaq Dubai on 2 October, after subscription, allocation and settlement.
The five-year instrument provides semi-annual profit distributions, with a stated minimum investment threshold of AED 1,000. The Ministry reported AED 285 million of orders against an AED 50 million target issuance.
Subscription and trading differ
The reported order total measures demand during the offering. It is not the amount issued or evidence of a particular secondary-market trading price.
The announcement says authorised brokers provide access and market makers support trading. It does not guarantee that an investor can exit at the original subscription price.
How to read the market development
T&M analysis: retail access and an exchange listing broaden the routes through which savers can hold dirham-denominated sovereign instruments. Secondary-market execution, however, depends on prices, spreads, available orders and the investor's broker arrangements.
The cash-flow profile should be compared with the investor's liquidity needs. A five-year maturity does not prevent earlier sale, but an earlier sale creates a different price outcome from holding to maturity.
Check the instrument, not the headline
Before making a decision, read the actual terms, distribution schedule, broker charges and available market quotations. Tax treatment should be checked against the investor's own status rather than inferred from the instrument's sovereign label.
